Punjab govt transfers 8 IPS officers; 4 Districts get new SSPs

Punjab government transfers eight IPS officers, appointing a new IGP for Border Range and reshuffling SSPs in Patiala, SAS Nagar, Bathinda and Mansa.

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has ordered the transfer and posting of eight IPS officers, including a change in the top police leadership of Amritsar and the reshuffle of Senior Superintendents of Police in several districts.

Surpreet Singh Bhullar (IPS-SPS:2004), who was awaiting posting orders, has been posted as IGP, Border Range, Amritsar, replacing Harmanbir Singh.

Harmanbir Singh (IPS-SPS:2010), who was serving as DIG, Border Range, Amritsar, with additional charge as Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, has been posted as the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar.

Bhagirath Singh Meena (IPS:2013:PB), SSP, Mansa, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Personnel-1, CPO, Punjab, replacing Suhail Qasim Mir.

Varun Sharma (IPS:2014:PB), SSP, Patiala, has been transferred and posted as SSP, SAS Nagar, replacing Harman Deep Singh Hans.

Harman Deep Singh Hans (IPS:2015:PB), SSP, SAS Nagar, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Patiala, replacing Varun Sharma.

Suhail Qasim Mir (IPS:2017:PB), AIG, Personnel-1, CPO, Punjab, has been posted as SSP, Bathinda, replacing Jyoti Yadav.

Jyoti Yadav (IPS:2019:PB), SSP, Bathinda, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 82nd Battalion, PAP, Chandigarh, replacing Balwinder Singh (PPS).

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Choudhary (IPS:2020:PB), SP Headquarters, Patiala, has been posted as SSP, Mansa, replacing Bhagirath Singh Meena.
