New Delhi: Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal, who served as Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Droupadi Murmu and became one of the recognisable faces of the Indian Army, has taken premature retirement after completing 12 years of service.
The 30-year-old officer said the decision was prompted by family commitments and described it as the hardest decision of his life. According to Sambyal, he spent around four months deliberating before finally deciding to leave the Army.
During his tenure as ADC to President Murmu, Sambyal gained widespread public attention, particularly through social media, and became a familiar face among the public. He said the posting as the President’s ADC came as a surprise and was not something he had planned for.
Sambyal has now begun working on his future plans, including a model aimed at inspiring young minds and contributing towards the country’s growth. However, he said that only days after leaving the service, he already misses his uniform, daily routine and life in the Army.
