CBDT promotes two IRS-IT officers to PCCIT, six to CCIT

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has promoted two Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officers of the 1991 batch to the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (PCCIT) in the Apex Scale for the panel year 2026. In addition, six IRS (IT) officers of the 1994 batch have been promoted to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT) in the HAG scale.

Rajesh Kumar Gupta (IRS-IT:1991) and Deepali Chandra (IRS-IT:1991) have been promoted to the rank of PCCIT at Level 17 of the Pay Matrix (Apex Scale) on an in-situ basis.

Meanwhile, the following six IRS (IT) officers of the 1994 batch have been promoted to the grade of CCIT at Level 16 of the Pay Matrix (HAG):

1. Swati Joshi
2. Sukhveer Singh Choudhary
3. Abhijit A Patankar
4. Amaresh Singh
5. Sunil K Jha
6. Saroj Kumar Mahapatra

All the promotions are for the panel year 2026.
