The Odisha government has refused to accept the resignation of IPS officer Jagmohan Meena (IPS:2013:OD), currently posted as Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Meena had cited personal reasons for submitting his resignation in July.

He later clarified that he decided to resign after discussing it with family and friends and stressed that there was no external pressure or political interference responsible for his decision. He had urged the govt to respect his decision.

Originally from Sikar in Rajasthan, Meena is an IIT Kanpur alumnus and UPSC rank holder and has served in key govt positions across the state, including as SP of Angul, Ganjam, and Malkangiri and DCP of Cuttack. He was given gallantry awards in 2019.

He assumed charge as Bhubaneswar DCP on February 28, 2025.

As per media reports, Mina may join a family business in Rajasthan. He, however, emphasized that his plans are entirely personal.

Now, as his resignation has not been accepted, Meena continues to serve as Bhubaneswar DCP.
