Rajesh Pandey appointed Chairman of Damodar Valley Corporation

The Centre has appointed West Bengal cadre IAS officer Rajesh Pandey as Chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for a five-year tenure.

New Delhi: The central government on Tuesday (July 14, 2026) appointed senior IAS officer Rajesh Pandey (IAS:1995:WB) as the Chairman of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment to the post for a period of five years from the date he assume charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Currently, he is serving in the parent cadre West Bengal as Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Cooperation Department.

Rajesh Pandey succeeds Gurdeep Singh, the Chairman and Managing Director of NTPC, who had been holding the additional charge of DVC Chairman since June 1, 2026, after retirement of S Suresh Kumar (IAS:1988:WB).
