Tamil Nadu govt transfers 18 IAS officers; Pradeep Yadav shifted to MSME Department

The Tamil Nadu government on Tuesday (July 15, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 18 IAS officers in a major bureaucratic reshuffle. Notably, Pradeep Yadav has been shifted as Additional Chief Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, while Dr. Atul Anand has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Information Technology and Digital Services Department. The reshuffle also includes key changes in the Higher Education, Transport, Environment, Power, Labour and Industries departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Pradeep Yadav (IAS:1992:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, Information Technology and Digital Services Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department.
2. Dr Atul Anand (IAS:1994:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Information Technology and Digital Services Department.
3. Dheeraj Kumar (IAS:1993:TN), Additional Chief Secretary/Commissioner, Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department.
4. Kakarla Usha (IAS:1994:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department.
5. E Sundaravalli (IAS:2007:TN), Special Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department, has been promoted and posted as Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department.
6. Nirmal Raj (IAS:2010:TN), Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Transport Department.
7. Dr P Umanath (IAS:2001:TN), Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce.
8. Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan (IAS:2002:TN), Principal Secretary/Commissioner, Disaster Management, Tamil Nadu Disaster Risk Reduction Agency, Commissionerate of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary/Commissioner, Transport and Road Safety.
9. Dr M Vallalar (IAS:2003:TN), Secretary, Transport Department, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Labour.
10. R Gajalakshmi (IAS:2009:TN), Commissioner, Land Administration, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise.
11. Mageswari Ravikumar (IAS:2011:TN), Director, Social Welfare, has been transferred and posted as Director, Art and Culture.
12. D Rathna (IAS:2011:TN), Additional Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Chennai.
13. D Baskara Pandian (IAS:2014:TN), Director, Transport and Road Safety, has been transferred and posted as Director, Museums.
14. Dr R Brindha Devi (IAS:2016:TN), Director, Art and Culture, has been transferred and posted as Director, Social Welfare.
15. Supriya Sahu (IAS:1991:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, Environment, Climate Change and Forests Department, has been placed at the disposal of the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute for appointment as its Additional Chief Secretary/Commissioner.
16. Dr J Radhakrishnan (IAS:1992:TN), Additional Chief Secretary/Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation, has been placed at the disposal of the Anna Administrative Staff College for appointment as its Director. He will also function as Director General of Training.
17. Dr V Arun Roy (IAS:2003:TN), Secretary, Higher Education Department, has been placed at the disposal of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation for appointment as its Chairman and Managing Director. He will also function as Chairman of Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation, Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation and Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation.
18. Waghe Sanket Balwant (IAS:2021:TN), Additional Collector (Development)/Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, Coimbatore, has been placed at the disposal of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) for appointment as its Executive Director.
