New Delhi: Pankaj Kumar Singh (IPS:2008:AGMUT), presently serving as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been appointed as Joint Director, CBI.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (July 13, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment as Joint Director, CBI, from the date of assumption of charge of the post, for an overall central deputation tenure of seven years up to December 5, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, Singh joined central deputation as Director in the Department of Youth Affairs in December 2021. In October 2023, he was laterally shifted to the CBI as DIG, a position he has been holding since then.
