Varun Nayyar (IDAS:2014), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Defence, has been selected for appointment as Internal Financial Advisor (IFA) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (June 10, 2026), his appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to December 12, 2028 (i.e. combined tenure of four years at ex-cadre and CSS posts put together) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
