New Delhi: Two IPS officers, Kiran Narayanan and R Chethan, have been inducted into the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a five-year deputation, according to separate appointment orders issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (September 15, 2026).
Kerala cadre IPS officer Kiran Narayanan (IPS:2014:KL) has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the CBI. Her tenure will be for five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Before this assignment, Narayanan was serving as Superintendent of Police (Internal Security) in the State Special Branch at Thiruvananthapuram.
Karnataka cadre IPS officer R Chethan (IPS:2010:KN) has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the CBI for five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Chethan was serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP), Western Range, Mangaluru, before his CBI appointment.
