Navneet Kumar (ICAS:2014) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Railways and Information & Broadcasting, for a period of four years. His appointment specifically pertains to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (June 8, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his appointment at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period of four years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post.
His tenure will be on a co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
