The central deputation tenure of Rajeev Singh Thakur (IAS:1995:RJ) as Adviser to NITI Aayog in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary has been extended by six months.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (June 2, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved extension of his deputation tenure for a period of six months beyond June 3, 2026, that is up to December 3, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Rajeev Singh Thakur has been serving in the position since February 2025, when he was transferred to NITI Aayog from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
Before moving to NITI Aayog, he was serving as Additional Secretary in DPIIT.
