DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv repatriated to parent cadre

IRS officer Sanjiv (IRS-IT:1993), serving as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (March 24, 2026), the competent authority has approved the proposal of DPIIT to move him back to his cadre to enable him to avail promotion benefits.

He had been serving in the post since January 2023, with his central deputation originally scheduled for five years.
