AGMUT Cadre: 24 IPS officers of 2013 batch granted Selection Grade

MHA grants Selection Grade to 24 AGMUT cadre IPS officers of 2013 batch, including two officers on central deputation given proforma promotion.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday (December 19, 2025) granted Selection Grade to 24 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the AGMUT cadre from the 2013 batch, including 22 officers currently serving in the cadre and two officers on central deputation who were given proforma promotion. According to the order, the promotions will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later.

The officers promoted to Selection Grade are Ashish Kumar Mishra, Nagpure Amod Ashok, Darade Sharad Bhaskar, V Hareshwar Swami, Vichitra Veer, Jimmy Chiram, Ankit Chauhan, Prashant Priya Gautam, Gurinderpal Singh, Apoorva Gupta, Ankit Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar, Mohd Irshad Haider, Kumar Gyanesh, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Anil Kumar Lal, Rajendra Prasad Meena, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Bakar Hussain Samoon, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Ranjit Singh Samyal and Mohd Yaseen Kichloo.

In addition, two AGMUT cadre IPS officers of the 2013 batch—Chandan Kohli and Surendra Choudhary—currently serving on central deputation, have been granted proforma promotion to the Selection Grade on an actual basis with effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge of their immediate juniors in the cadre.
