The Kerala government on Wednesday (23.04.2025) appointed senior IAS officer Dr A Jayathilak (IAS:1991:KL) as the next Chief Secretary of the state. He will assume office following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan (IAS:1990:KL) on April 30.
Jayathilak, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department, is expected to hold the top bureaucratic post until his superannuation in June 2026. He brings with him a wide range of administrative experience, having held prominent roles in state’s bureaucracy such as Chairman of the International Pepper Community and Managing Director of the Tourism Board.
Sarada Muraleedharan, who took over as Chief Secretary in August last year after the retirement of her batchmate and husband V Venu, has had a brief yet impactful tenure.
