As www.legendofficers.com reported earlier on January 22, 2025, the Union Government on Monday (April 21, 2025) issued official posting orders for five Special Directors in the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The appointments include four IRS officers and one IPS officer.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the postings of the following officers:
- Viplav Kumar Choudhry (IPS:1997:AGMUT)
- T Sankar (IRS-IT:2003)
- N Padmanaban (IRS-IT:2005)
- Rajnish Dev Barman (IRS-IT:1999)
- Manu Tentiwal (IRS-IT:2003)
These officers will assume responsibilities as Special Directors in the ED. The probe agency has eight sanctioned Special Director posts, heading key regional offices in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, and specialized units at the headquarters in Delhi. Before this development, the ED had three officers holding the rank of Special Director.
