WB: 10 IAS/IFS officers shifted, MK Agarwal appointed as Chief Electoral Officer

The West Bengal government on Wednesday (02.04.2025) transferred nine IAS officers and one IFS officer, with the most notable appointment being Manoj Kumar Agarwal as the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal.

The names of the officers and their posting are as follows;

1. Manoj Kumar Agarwal (IAS:1990:WB), Additional Chief Secretary, Forest Department with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Disaster Management & Civil Defence Department, has been transferred and posted as Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal.
2. Debal Roy (IFoS:1991:WB), Principal Chief Secretary of Forest and Head of Forest Force, will also hold the charge of Principal Secretary, Forest Department.
3. Rajesh Kumar Sinha (IAS:1997:WB), Principal Secretary, Housing Department with additional charge of Principal Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Department and CEO KMDA, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Housing Department with additional charge of Principal Secretary , Youth Services and Sports Department and Principal Secretary, Disaster Management and Civil Services Department.
4. Abhinav Chandra (IAS:2001:WB), Director, Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director, ATI.
5. Smaraki Mahapatra (IAS:2002:WB), Secretary, Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department, has been given additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director, West Bengal Mineral Development& Trading Corporation.
6. P Mohangandhi (IAS:2004:WB), Secretary in Industry, Commerce & Enterprises Department with additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director, West Bengal Mineral Development & Trading Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Director, Institute of Environmental Studies and Wetland Management.
7. Dipika Sanyamath (IAS:2008:WB), Secretary in Agriculture Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary in Mass Education Extension and Library Services Department.
8. Pawan Kadyan (IAS:2012:WB), Senior Special Secretary, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as IG, Registration and Commissioner of Stamp Revenue.
9. Dr Uma Sankar S (IAS:2011:WB), IG, Registration and Commissioner of Stamp Revenue, has been transferred and posted as Senior Special Secretary, Agriculture Department.
10. Anshul Gupta (IAS:2013:WB), Special Secretary in Mass Education Extension and Library Services Department, has been transferred and posted CEO, KMDA.
