The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday (31.05.2023) assigned additional charge of the DGP post to Senior IPS officer Vijaya Kumar (IPS:1988:UP) as the incumbent officiating DGP RK Vishwakarma (IPS:1988:UP) is set to retire from the service today.
IPS Vijaya Kumar will retire in January 2024. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued the order of his appointment.
Presently, Mr. Kumar serves as DG, CB-CID with additional charge of Vigilance Establishment. He has been given the additional charge of DGP until a permanent appointment is not made.
