Andhra Pradesh : Govt suggests three names for next SEC

The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has sent a list of three retired IAS officers to the Governor to appoint one of them as the next State Election Commissioner as the tenure of the SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar (IAS:1983:AP) ending by March 31. The list contains the name of former State Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney (Retd.IAS:1984:AP), who is
learnt to be the top priority. Currently, she is serving as the principal advisor to the Chief Minister.

The other probable M. Samuel (Retd.IAS:1978:AP), who retired in the cadre of Special Chief Secretary in March 2014 in united Andhra Pradesh, has been serving as an advisor to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with an additional charge as vice-chairman of Navaratnalu scheme.

The third probable, L. Premchandra Reddy (Retd.IAS:1991:AP), after retiring as Secretary, is currently serving as ex-officio chief secretary in the general administration department with responsibilities of state bifurcation
issues.
