The Prime Minister’s announcement of a 21 day countrywide lockdown, in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, seems to have created a sense of panic among the people. People were seen rushing in large numbers to buy essential supplies and medicines.
After the repeated pleas to maintain sufficient distance fell on deaf ears, police have resorted to wielding lathis to clear the crowd. The idea was that if you step out of the house, you get lathis blows from the cops.
A Haryana Cadre IPS Officer Pankaj Nain (IPS:2007:HY) posted a video of sterilised lathis on his twitter with a caption “full tayari”.
However he deleted the tweet after receiving flak for his post.
