UP: 9 IAS officers shifted, PK Upadhyay is new Sugarcane Commissioner

In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday (14.04.2025) issued transfer and posting orders for nine IAS officers. The reshuffle involved changing responsibilities of several key departments, including the Sugarcane department, Food and Civil Supplies, Cooperative Societies, Panchayati Raj and Irrigation Departments.

The most notable development is the removal of Prabhu N Singh, who has been placed on the waiting list. Until now, he was serving as the Sugarcane Commissioner. In his place, Pramod Kumar Upadhyay has been appointed as the new Sugarcane Commissioner.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Sameer Verma (IAS:2002:UP), Secretary, Social Welfare Department, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General, Registration.
2. Bhupendra S Chaudhary (IAS:2009:UP), Secretary, Public Welfare Department, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Food & Civil Supplies.
3. Dr. Heera Lal (IAS:2009:UP), State Nodal Officer, PM Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, has been transferred and posted Commissioner & Registrar, Cooperative Societies.
4. Naveen Kumar GS (IAS:2007:UP), Secretary, Irrigation, has been given additional charge of State Nodal Officer, PM Agriculture Irrigation Scheme.
5. Pramod Kumar Upadhyay (IAS-SCS:2009), Secretary, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Sugarcane.
6. Prabhu N Singh (IAS:2007:UP), Commissioner, Sugarcane, has been transferred and put on waiting list.
7. Vaibhav Srivastava (IAS:2009:UP), Secretary, Home Department, has been transferred and posted as MD, PCDF.
8. B Chandrakala (IAS:2008:UP), Secretary, Women Welfare & Panchayati Raj Department, has been relieved of the charge of Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department.
9. Amit Kumar Singh (IAS:2011:UP), Special Secretary, Urban Development and Joint MD, UP Jal Nigam (Urban), Lucknow, has been transferred and posted as Director, Panchayati Raj.
