New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha (IPS:1992:AGMUT), who was removed as Delhi Police Commissioner in July and subsequently attached to the office of the Lieutenant Governor, has now been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Directorate of Home Guards.
According to an order issued by the Home Department of the Delhi government on Tuesday (August 25, 2026), Golcha will take over as Director General, Home Guards, with effect from October 1, 2026. His appointment as OSD has been made until the superannuation of incumbent DG Virender Singh (IPS:1991:AGMUT) on September 30.
Golcha was removed as Delhi Police Commissioner on July 17, 2026, and was subsequently attached to the LG office. Anurag Kumar (IPS:1994:AGMUT), Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau, was appointed as his successor as Delhi Police Commissioner.
Prior to his appointment as Delhi Police Commissioner, Golcha was serving as Director General (Prisons), Delhi.
