Nimisha Jha (ICAS:2009) has been appointed as the Private Secretary to Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for Women and Child Development. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (21.10.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved appointment of Ms. Jha to the post for a period upto 19.08.2029 (i.e. for the balance period of her five years central deputation tenure) or or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until her service as Private Secretary to the Minister concludes, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
It’s worth noting that prior to this appointment, Mr. Sudan was serving as Director in the Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare under the central staffing scheme. However, her tenure in this role was curtailed due to his new appointment as the Private Secretary to Minister of State, Savitri Thakur. She will assume charge of the post at Director level.
