IAS officer Ajit Roy (IAS:2013:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (April 16, 2026), the Competent authority has approved his appointment to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.
