IPS Officer Manoj Tiwari (IPS:2003:SK) has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Border Security Force (BSF). According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday (July 1, 2026), the competent authority has approved his appointment in the BSF from the date of assumption of charge of the post till August 24, 2030 (combined normal tenure of five years), or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Tiwari is currently serving as Director of the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. He had joined the Foundation as Director on August 25, 2025, for a tenure of five years.
With his latest appointment, Tiwari will move from the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation to the BSF to serve as Inspector General.
