Justice TS Sivagnanam appointed Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta HC

The Union government on Thursday (30.03.2023) notified the appointment of Justice TS Sivagnanam as Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court with effect from March 31.

Justice Sivagnanam will take over the post after the retirement of the current Chief Justice Prakash Shrivastava.

Interestingly, the Supreme Court Collegium had on February 9 recommended the appointment of Justice Sivagnanam as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, and not Acting Chief Justice.
