The central government on Tuesday notified the appointment of Jharkhand High Court Judge Aparesh Kumar Singh as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court. Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh replaced Justice T Amarnath Goud, who was the acting chief justice of Tripura High Court since last November.
The Supreme Court Collegium had on February 7, recommended the appointment of Justice Singh as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court following the retirement of Justice Jaswant Singh.
Considering that Justice Singh was set to retire on February 22, the Collegium chose to recommend the appointment of Justice Kumar.
