IRS officer Kshitij Jain (IRS-C&IT:2011) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports. His appointment is specifically pertains to Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. He will assume the role at the level of Deputy Secretary.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (19.07.2024), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Kshitij Jain to the post with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post and for the period up to September 20, 2025 (i.e. for the balance period of his four years central deputation tenure) or on co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In November 2023, Kshitij Jain was appointed Private Secretary to Union Minister Bhupendra Singh Yadav, who oversees the portfolios of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, and Labour and Employment in the Modi government’s second term. Prior to that, he was Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence.
