International Women’s Day is being celebrated today (8 March) in different parts of the globe in various ways and one amongst them that is to be seen is, how Uttar Police has feted the women of the state in its own unique way.
Today, UP DGP OP Singh, held a live interaction ‘samvad’ with the women of the state on the micro-blogging site Twitter. This interactive session provided an opportunity and a platform for women of U.P to put their problems, suggestions and queries directly before the DGP. The twitter interaction was held for an hour with a hashtag #Askdgpup and the DGP responded to all the queries put before him.

This initiative by the DGP is being seen as UP Police’s reach out to the women and its concern for the safety of women in the state, and also bringing people friendly governance in the state in tune with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea of e-governance.
