Senior diplomat G Balasubramanian (IFS:1998) was on Monday (25.11.2024) appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Maldives. Currently, he is serving as the High Commission of India to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
In a statement, the MEA said, ” Shri G. Balasubramanian (IFS:1998), presently High Commissioner of India to the Federal Republic of Nigeria has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Maldives.”
“He is expected to take up the assignment shortly,” the statement added.
Balasubramanian succeeds Munu Mahawar (IFS:1996), who is serving as High Commissioner of India to Maldives since November 10, 2021.
