MHA appoints five IPS officers to DIG level posts in NIA

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (21.03.2022) notified the appointments of five SP-level IPS officers to DIG level posts in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). They have been appointed to the post from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to the tenure mention against each and until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The names of the officers are as follows;

  1. Amit Singh (IPS:2007:KN) for a tenure up to 26.09.2024
  2. Ms. Uma (IPS:2007:KL) for a tenure up to 26.11.2024
  3. Vikram Khalate (IPS:2008:NL) for a tenure up to 06.09.2022
  4. Tejinder Singh (IPS:2008:AGMUT/JK) for a tenure up to 17.02.2025
  5. Ms. Jyoti Priya Singh (IPS:2008:MH) for a tenure up to 04.03.2024

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (21.03.2022) notified the appointments of three SP-level IPS officers to DIG level posts in the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D). They have been appointed to the post from the date of assumption of charge of the post and up to the tenure mention against each and until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The names of the officers are as follows;

  1. Anshuman Singh (IPS:2006:MP) for a tenure up to 11.11.2023
  2. Dr. Amandeep Singh Kapoor (IPS:2007:RJ) for a tenure up to 15.08.2026
  3. Ms. Sarah Afzal Ahmed Rizvi (IPS:2008:GJ) for a tenure up to 12.08.2022

None selected for the post of Director (Finance), Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has failed to find suitable candidate for the post of Director (Finance), Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) at a selection meeting held on March 21, 2022. The PESB interviewed three candidates for the job following which it announced that the administrative ministry/department might choose an appropriate course of action for selection including search cum selection committee (SCSC).

The following 03 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting :

  1. Pradip Sinha, Dy. Finance Adviser & Chief Accounts Officer, Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd. (KRCL)
  2. Sanjay Gupta, Senior General Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.
  3. Karunesh Kumar Mishra, Chief Financial Officer, Rosa Power Supply Company Limited

Deepali Masirkar appointed as Director, Election Commission of India

Deepali Masirkar (IPS:2008:NL) has been selected for appointment to the post of Director in the Election Commission of India, Delhi for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (21.03.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms Masirkar to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

George Thomas appointed as Under Secretary, MoPNG

George Thomas (IFS:2015) has been selected for appointment to the post of Under Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG), New Delhi for a period of three years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (21.03.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Thomas to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of three years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Stefi Sofi appointed as Deputy Secretary, National Recruitment Agency

Ms. Stefi Sofi (IA&AS:2013) has been selected for appointment to the post of Deputy Secretary in the National Recruitment Agency (NRA), Delhi for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (21.03.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms Sofi to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Abhishek Bhagotia appointed as Director, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs

Abhishek Bhagotia (IAS:2007:AM) has been selected for appointment to the post of Director in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Delhi for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (19.03.2022), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Bhagotia to the post for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Former IAS officer Pradeep Singh Kharola appointed as Chairman of NRA

The Modi government has appointed Pradeep Singh Kharola (Retd.IAS:1985:KN) as the Chairman of the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for a period of three years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Kharola to the post in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India on contract basis for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

BBB recommends names for chief of three PSU banks

The Banks Board Bureau (BBB) has recommended A Manimekhalai for the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Union Bank of India. Presently, she is Executive Director, Canara Bank.

Rajkiran Rai G, the incumbent MD & CEO of Union Bank, will complete his term on May 31. The government had extended his term beyond June 30, 2020.

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) Executive Director Ajay Kumar Srivastava has been recommended to take over as the that banks’s MD & CEO after Partha Pratim Sengupta completes his tenure on December 31, 2022.

Punjab National Bank Executive Director Swaroop Kumar Saha has been shortlisted as the preferred candidate for the position of MD & CEO in Punjab & Sind Bank after the retirement of S Krishnan on May 31, 2022.

The bureau interacted with 15 candidates from various public sector banks, based on which it made recommendations for three MD-CEO posts.

Canara Bank ED K. Satyanarayana Raju, Union Bank ED Nitesh Ranjan and Bank of Baroda ED Debadatta Chand are the top three in the reserve list.

BBB recommends Alok Choudhary for SBI MD post

The Banks Board Bureau (BBB), the headhunter for state-owned banks and financial institutions, on Wednesday (16.03.2022) recommended Alok Kumar Choudhary for the post of Managing Director (MD) in State Bank of India (SBI).

Choudhary, who is Deputy Managing Director (Finance) in SBI, will replace Ashwini Bhatia who has been appointed a whole time member of Sebi.

Prior to this, he was Chief General Manager of Delhi region for three years.

The name of Vinay M Tonse, who is MD & CEO of SBI Mutual Fund, has been kept as the candidate on the reserve list for the post of MD of the SBI. The members of the Banks Board Bureau interviewed 21 candidates on March 5-6; March 11-12 & March 15- 16, 2022 for the said vacancy.

The final decision on the appointment will be taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
