Sushant Sudan selected for appointment as Dy Secretary in D/o Commerce (GeM)
Sushant Sudan (IES:2012), who is presently on compulsory wait in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce (GeM). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (10.02.2025), Mr. Sudan will serve in the post for a period upto January 1, 2026 (i.e. balance period of his 4 years tenure under the central staffing scheme) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Private Secretary AP Singh re-designated as Director
Abhinav Pratap Singh (IPoS:2011), currently serving as the Private Secretary to Minister for Communications & Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, at the Deputy Secretary level, has been re-designated as Director in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (10.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Mr. Singh’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of re-designated post and for a period upto December 7, 2027 or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
It is noteworthy that Abhinav Pratap Singh his central deputation tenure on June 6, 2022.

MoS Suresh Gopi’s Private Secretary Narain SN re-designated as Director
Narain SN (IRTS:2011), currently serving as the Private Secretary to Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Tourism, Suresh Gopi at the Deputy Secretary level, has been re-designated as Director in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (10.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Mr. Narain’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of re-designated post and for a period upto December 27, 2026 or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
It is noteworthy that Narain SN began his central deputation tenure on December 28, 2020.

Amit Kumar appointed Deputy Secretary in M/o Information & Broadcasting
Amit Kumar (ISupplyS:2013), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Commerce, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for four years.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (10.02.2025), Mr. Kumar will serve in the post for a period of four years under the central staffing scheme from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Kavita Singh gets extension as Joint Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat
The central deputation of Kavita Singh (IAS:2004:PB) as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat has been extended for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (10.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Singh for a period of two years beyond 15.03.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
