Sangram Kumar Mishra selected as CMD, Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited

Sangram Kumar Mishra has been selected for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL) by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). The selection was made following interviews conducted by PESB on July 16, 2025.

He is currently serving as General Manager, Steel Authority Of India Limited (SAIL).

Following the selection, the PESB has recommended his name to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. His formal appointment will be subject to the receipt of necessary vigilance clearances and the ACC’s nod.

Madhubala Kalluri appointed Director (Finance) at MIDHANI

Madhubala Kalluri has been appointed as Director (Finance) of Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15 July, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal from the Department of Defence Production for her appointment.

Kalluri is currently serving as General Manager (Finance & Accounts) at MIDHANI.

Her name was earlier recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on April 30, 2025, after she emerged successful among eight candidates interviewed for the post.

Purushottam Parashar appointed OSD to Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia

Purushottam Parashar, an officer from NTPC Limited, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. His appointment specifically pertains to the Ministry of Communications.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (July 16, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for his appointment at the Director level.

Parashar has been appointed for a period of 2 years, 2 months and 11 days, corresponding to the balance tenure of 5 years as OSD, with effect from the date of assumption of charge. His term will be co-terminus with the tenure of the Minister, or until he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

CBDT transfers 26 IRS officers in CIT/DIT grade

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) issued transfer and posting orders for 26 Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers in the Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT) and Director of Income Tax (DIT) grade.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) issued transfer and posting orders for 18 senior Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officers in the rank of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT) and Director General of Income Tax (DGIT).

The details of the transfer/posting are as follows:

  1. Satish K Goyal has been transferred from DGIT (Investigation), Bhopal to CCIT, Rajkot.
  2. Anurag Prasad, CCIT (OSD), has been transferred and posted as CCIT-1, Mumbai. He will take charge after promotion of Sh. LKS Dahiya.
  3. Sushil Kumar Madhuk has been transferred from CCIT, Panaji to CCIT, Ahmedabad-1.
  4. Rajesh Kumar Gupta has been shifted from CCIT, Rajkot to CCIT, Ahmedabad-2.

CBDT Transfers 8 Senior IRS Officers in Pr. CCIT/Pr. DGIT Rank

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) issued transfer and posting orders for eight senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officers in the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr. CCIT) and Principal Director General of Income Tax (Pr. DGIT).

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Preeti Garg, currently posted as Pr. CCIT, Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, has been transferred and post as Pr. CCIT, Karnataka & Goa. She will take charge on August 1, 2025, following the retirement of Ganapati Bhat on July 31, 2025.
  2. M Anil Kumar, Pr. CCIT, Kerala, has been transferred and posted as Pr. CCIT, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.
  3. Surabhi Varma Garg, currently serving as Pr. CCIT (OSD), has been posted as Pr. CCIT, West Bengal & Sikkim.

CBDT Members Pankaj Kumar Mishra & Sanjay Bahadur allotted addl. charge after Prabodh Seth’s retirement

Following the retirement of Prabodh Seth (IRS-IT:1989) on June 30, 2025, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) redistributed the responsibilities he held among two serving Members in an additional capacity.

Pankaj Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT:1989), currently serving as Member (TPS&R), has been assigned the additional charge of Member (Administration). In this role, he will also supervise the offices of the Principal Director General of Income Tax (HRD), Principal DGIT (Training), and DGIT (Vigilance).

Meanwhile, Sanjay Bahadur (IRS-IT:1989), Member (Income Tax), has been given additional charge of the West Zone, covering key regions including Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur.

Before retiring, Prabodh Seth held the position of Member (Administration) in the CBDT with oversight responsibilities for human resource development, training, vigilance, and the West Zone.

Priyanka Singh gets extension as Director in Central Vigilance Commission

The central deputation tenure of Priyanka Singh (IRS-IT:2006) as Director in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has been extended for one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (July 15, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of CVC to extend the deputation tenure of Ms Singh for a period of one year beyond August 12, 2025 and upto August 12, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Notably, Priyanka Singh began her central deputation on August 13, 2020.

Dipti Mohil Chawla gets extension as Additional Secretary in Department of Defence

The central deputation tenure of Dipti Mohil Chawla (IDAS:1995) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence, has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (July 15, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Ms Chawla for a period upto May 6, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Vishesh Garhpale and Sharandeep Kaur Brar get JS-level upgrade in FCI

In a key development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the temporary upgradation of posts held by two IAS officers in the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to the rank of Joint Secretary.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (July 15, 2025), Vishesh Garhpale (IAS:2008:MP), currently serving as General Manager (Madhya Pradesh) in FCI, has been given the Joint Secretary-level upgrade (Pay Level-14) until September 7, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Similarly, Sharandeep Kaur Brar (IAS:2009:HY), serving as General Manager (Haryana), FCI, has been granted the same upgrade in pay and rank for a period up to August 20, 2026, or until further orders.
