Bihar govt transfers 9 IPS officers; Sushant Kumar Saroj gets DIG ATS role

The Bihar government on Monday (June 8, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for nine IPS officers across the state, making changes at the levels of Inspector General (IG), Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Commandants.

The names of the officers and their posting are as follows;

1. Pankaj Kumar Raj (IPS:2006:BH), IG, Civil Defence, Patna, has been transferred and posted as IG, SCRB with additional charge of IG, Railway, Patna.
2. L Premlatha (IPS:2006:BH), IG, Technical Services & Communication, Patna, has been transferred and posted as IG, Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau, Patna.
3. Sanjay Kumar (IPS:2008:BH), IG, Special Branch, Patna, has been given additional charge of IG, Bihar Special Armed Police, Patna.
4. Sudheer Kumar Porika (IPS:2010:BH), DIG-cum-Deputy Commandant, Home Guard and Fire Services, Patna, has been transferred and posted as DIG, SCRB, Patna.
5. Kumar Gautam (IPS:2011:BH), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-5, Patna.
6. Sushant Kumar Saroj (IPS:2011:BH), DIG, Traffic, Patna, has been transferred as DIG, ATS with additional charge of DIG, Traffic, Patna.
7. Deepak Ranjan (IPS:2012:BH), DIG, Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir, has been transferred and posted as DIG (Anti Robbery), CID, Patna.
8. Manish Kumar Sinha (IPS:2018:BH), Commandant, Special Security Force, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, Cavalry Special Armed Police, Ara.
9. Ajay Kumar (IPS:2018:BH), Commandant, Bihar Special Armed Police-5, Patna, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, Special Security Force, Patna.
