New Delhi: Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem has been appointed as Director (Production) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) with effect from September 21, 2026.
The ONGC Board approved his appointment following a letter issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on September 21. Nettem will hold the position until his superannuation on September 30, 2029, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
A Mechanical Engineer, Nettem has more than three decades of experience with ONGC. He began his career in 1991 at the Mumbai High offshore oilfield and has subsequently handled key responsibilities across offshore and onshore operations, asset management, project execution and international upstream activities.
He has served as Asset Manager of ONGC’s Assam Asset at Nazira and held a leadership role at the Mumbai High Asset, where he was involved in production performance, asset integrity, redevelopment and project execution. He also gained international experience with ONGC Videsh Limited in deepwater operations and field development planning.
Nettem was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on June 3, 2026 for the Director (Production) post as the incumbent Pankaj Kumar was set for retirement on June 30, 2026. At the time, he was serving as Executive Director (E9) , ONGC.
He also serves as Chairman of Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL).
