New Delhi: The Central government on Saturday (September 19, 2026) notified the appointment of 14 judicial officers as Judges and Additional Judges in four High Courts—Delhi, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, and Jharkhand.
The appointments follow the recommendations of the Supreme Court Collegium, which at its meeting held on September 10, 2026, recommended 15 judicial officers for elevation to the four High Courts. Of the 15 names recommended, 14 have now been notified, while the name of Delhi judicial officer Gurvinder Pal Singh does not figure in the latest appointment notification.
Jharkhand High Court
Manoj Prasad, Akhil Kumar and Ram Sharma have been appointed as Judges of the Jharkhand High Court.
Karnataka High Court
Usharani, KS Bharath Kumar and Nerale Veerabhadraiah Bhavani have been appointed as Additional Judges of the Karnataka High Court.
Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court
Yash Paul Bourney has been appointed as a Judge of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
Delhi High Court
Nivedita Anil Sharma and Nisha Sahay Saxena have been appointed as Judges of the Delhi High Court.
Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bhardwaj have been appointed as Additional Judges.
Dr. Aditi Choudhary has also been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court.
Thus, seven judicial officers have been appointed to the Delhi High Court, against eight names recommended by the Collegium on September 10. Gurvinder Pal Singh is the only name from that recommendation that is absent from the September 19 notification.
