West Bengal govt transfers 34 IAS officers

Kolkata: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the West Bengal government on August 28, 2026, issued transfer and posting orders for 34 IAS officers across the state. The reshuffle includes officers at the Secretary and Special Secretary levels. Eleven 2021-batch IAS officers have also been shifted, with nine of them getting field postings as Additional District Magistrates (ADMs).

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Khalid Aizaz Anwar (IAS:2009:WB), Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Finance Department.
2. Surendra Kumar Meena (IAS:2011:WB), Special Secretary, Agriculture Department, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Commercial Taxes.
3. Uday Sankar S (IAS:2011:WB), Special Secretary, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Senior Special Secretary, Housing Department.
4. Anshul Gupta (IAS:2013:WB), Director, Information, Information & Cultural Affairs Department, with additional charge of Director, District Distribution Procurement & Supply, Food & Supplies Department, has been transferred and posted as Director, District Distribution Procurement & Supply, Food & Supplies Department, with additional charge of Managing Director, WEBCSC.
5. Hrishikes Mudi (IAS:2014:WB), Special Commissioner in the rank of Special Secretary, Agriculture Department, has been transferred and posted as Special Commissioner, Office of the Bardhaman Division.
6. Suman Kumar Ghosh (IAS:2014:WB), Special Commissioner in the rank of Special Secretary, Food and Supplies Department, has been transferred and posted as Special Commissioner in the rank of Special Secretary, Science and Technology and Biotechnology Department.
7. Chinmoy Dey (IAS:2014:WB), Special Commissioner, GST, Durgapur, has been transferred and posted as Special Commissioner in the rank of Special Secretary, Agriculture Department.
8. Sumant Sahay (IAS:2016:WB), Special Secretary, Department of Information Technology & Electronics, with additional charge of Managing Director, WEBEL, has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, WBTDCL and Director, Tourism.
9. Shaikh Ansar Ahmad (IAS:2016:WB), ADM, Paschim Medinipur, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Animal Resources Development Department.
10. Divya Murugesan (IAS:2017:WB), Joint Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal, in the rank of Special Secretary, has been transferred and posted as Joint Municipal Commissioner, Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
11. Avneet Punia (IAS:2017:WB), ADM, South 24 Parganas, in the rank of Special Secretary, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Information & Cultural Affairs Department, and Director, Information.
12. Nripendra Singh (IAS:2017:WB), ADM, Nadia, in the rank of Special Secretary, has been transferred and posted as ED, WBIDC and Special Secretary, IC&E Department.
13. Suman Saurav Mohanty (IAS:2017:WB), ADM, Paschim Bardhaman, has been transferred and posted as Special Commissioner, GST, Durgapur.
14. Ravi Ranjan (IAS:2017:WB), ADM, Howrah, has been transferred and posted as Director, ESI (MB) Scheme, Labour Department.
15. Nitu Shukla (IAS:2017:WB), ADM, Paschim Bardhaman, in the rank of Special Secretary, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, IT & E Department and Managing Director, WEBEL.
16. Rajesh (IAS:2017:WB), ADM, Jalpaiguri, has been transferred and posted as Director, Projects, PM Surya Ghar BY and Special Secretary, Power Department.
17. Haseen Zahera Rizvi (IAS:2018:WB), Joint Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, has been transferred and posted as Labour Commissione.
18. Priyadarshini Bhattacharya (IAS:2018:WB), Joint Secretary, Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Finance Department.
19. Rohan Laxmikant Joshi (IAS:2018:WB), ADM, Purba Bardhaman, has been transferred and posted as Director, Transport Department.
20. Shrinivas Vyankatrao Patil (IAS:2018:WB), ADM, Malda, has been transferred and posted as Managing Director, Paschim Banga Agri Marketing Corporation Ltd. (Sufal Bangla).
21. Shekhar Kumar Chaudhary (IAS:2018:WB), ADM, Howrah, with additional charge of Joint Secretary, Land and Land Reforms and Refugee, Relief & Rehabilitation Department, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Department of P and AR and CEO, WTL.
22. Mohd Abdul Shahid (IAS:2019:WB), Joint Secretary, Office of the Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms, Government of West Bengal, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Finance Department.
23. Neha Banerjee (IAS:2020:WB), Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms, with additional charge of Chief Executive Officer, Webel Technology Limited (WTL), has been transferred and posted as ADM (LR), South 24 Parganas.
24. Abhishek Shukla (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Gangarampur, Dakshin Dinajpur, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director, SUDA.
25. Dhumal Pratik Ashok (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Contai, Purba Medinipur, has been transferred and posted as CEO, DSDA, with additional charge of CEO, Jagannath Dham Digha and additional charge of ADM, Purba Medinipur.
26. Subhankar Bala (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Domkal, Murshidabad, has been transferred and posted as ADM, Paschim Medinipur.
27. Ahimsa Jain (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Kalna, Purba Bardhaman, has been transferred and posted as ADM, North 24 Parganas.
28. Subham Maurya (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Bongaon, North 24 Parganas, has been transferred and posted as ADM, Alipurduar.
29. Priya Yadav (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Kurseong, Darjeeling, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Office of the Chief Secretary.
30. Bharat Singh (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Dinhata, Cooch Behar, has been transferred and posted as ADM, Jhargram.
31. Md. Manzar Hussain Anjum (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Manbazar, Purulia, has been transferred and posted as ADM (LR), Kalimpong.
32. Vivek Pankaj (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Howrah Sadar, has been transferred and posted as ADM, Hooghly.
33. Mithun Biswas (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Raghunathpur, Purulia, has been transferred and posted as ADM, Paschim Bardhaman.
34. Ravi Kumar (IAS:2021:WB), SDO, Arambagh, Hooghly, has been transferred and posted as ADM, Howrah.
