West Bengal transfers six IAS officers; Md Ghulam Ali Ansari appointed Principal Secretary, Water Resources

The West Bengal government on Monday (July 13, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for six IAS officers. Notably, Md Ghulam Ali Ansari has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Water Resources, Investigation & Development Department with additional charge of Project Director, ADMI Project.

The names of the officers and their new postings are as follows:

1. Md Ghulam Ali Ansari (IAS:2000:WB), Divisional Commissioner, Malda Division, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Water Resources, Investigation & Development Department with additional charge of Project Director, ADMI Project.
2. Sanjay Bansal (IAS:2004:WB), Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department, with additional charge of Secretary, Water Resources, Investigation & Development Department and Project Director, ADMI Project, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department with additional charge of Finance (Revenue) Department.
3. Saurav Pahari (IAS:2008:WB), Director, Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management, has been transferred and posted as Divisional Commissioner, Presidency Division.
4. Ayesha Rani A (IAS:2009:WB), Secretary, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs Department, has been transferred and posted as Divisional Commissioner, Malda Division.
5. Arindam Mani (IAS:2014:WB), Special Commissioner in the rank of Special Secretary, Land & Land Reforms and Refugee Relief & Rehabilitation Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, State Election Commission.
6. Saequa Monazza (IAS:2014:WB), OSD, Technical Education, Training & Skill Development Department, with additional charge of Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies, has been transferred and posted as Director, Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management with additional charge of Special Commissioner, Environment Department.
