New Delhi: M Tamilvanan (IPS:2008:JH), currently serving as Deputy Director at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad, has been elevated to the Joint Director (Level-14) rank through temporary upgradation of his post.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (July 13, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for temporary upgradation of the post of Deputy Director (Level-13A) held by Tamilvanan to the level of Joint Director (Level-14) for an initial period of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the upgraded post, as a measure personal to the officer, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Notably, Tamilvanan has been serving as Deputy Director (DIG level) at the SVPNPA since May 2023. His appointment to the post was made for a five-year tenure.
