The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has revised the eligibility criteria for the post of Chairman of ONGC by including Post Graduate as an eligible qualification. It has also extended the deadline for submission of applications by one day.
According to a notification issued on Wednesday (July 1, 2026), the competent authority has approved the inclusion of ‘Post Graduate’ in the qualification criteria for the post of Chairman, ONGC, which was advertised on June 30, 2026.
Under the revised eligibility criteria, the applicant should be a first-class graduate with a degree in Engineering, Chartered Accountancy or Cost Accountancy, or a Post Graduate, or a graduate with a full-time MBA/PGDIM from a leading institute.
Following the revision, the last date for submission of online applications has been extended from July 21, 2026 to 3 PM on July 22, 2026. The deadline for forwarding applications by the concerned nodal officer, Head of Organisation, competent authority, administrative secretary or cadre controlling authority has also been extended from July 30, 2026 to 5 PM on July 31, 2026.
