IAS Officer Rashmi Kamal (IAS:2006:WB), Director of Census Operations (DCO)/Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), West Bengal, has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (June 26, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Office of the Registrar General of India to repatriate her to the West Bengal cadre on administrative grounds with the provision of extended cooling off.
Rashmi Kamal had assumed charge as DCO/DCR, West Bengal, with effect from January 1, 2026.
Notably, she had taken over the post after Kaushick Saha (IAS:2010:WB) was prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre, West Bengal, in September 2025, even though his tenure was originally scheduled to end on December 31, 2025.
