Sanjay Jaju repatriated to Telangana; likely to be appointed Chief Secretary

ACC approves repatriation of IAS officer Sanjay Jaju to Telangana; likely to be appointed Chief Secretary.

Senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju (IAS:1992:TG) has been repatriated to his cadre state Telangana and is likely to be appointed as the next Chief Secretary of the state.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (June 23, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved his repatriation to Telangana on the request of the state government.

Jaju is currently serving as Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). Notably, he was appointed as Secretary, DoNER in March this year. Prior to that, he was serving as Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The extended tenure of incumbent Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao is scheduled to end on June 30. He has been holding charge of the post since May 1, 2025.
