In a significant development, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has revised its earlier deployment order concerning former CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta (IAS:2012:AGMUT) and posted him to Ladakh.
The move effectively modifies the MHA’s June 3, 2026 order under which Gupta had initially been assigned to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands following his return to the AGMUT cadre.
The development came after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on June 2, 2026 approved Gupta’s premature repatriation to his parent cadre with an extended cooling-off period.
Following Himanshu Gupta his repatriation, the Ministry had deployed him to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. However, the latest order revises that decision and places him in Ladakh instead.
