Senior diplomat Vipul (IFS:1998) was on Tuesday (June 2, 2026) appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Vipul, who is currently serving as Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, will take up the new assignment shortly.
He has been serving as India’s envoy to Qatar since August 2023.
Vipul will succeed Suhel Ajaz Khan (IFS:1997) as India’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
A 1998-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, Vipul brings extensive diplomatic experience and deep understanding of Gulf affairs to one of India’s most strategically significant diplomatic assignments.
