Punjab govt transfers 7 IAS officers; changes in Health, Local Govt, Industries and Education Departments

The Punjab government on Tuesday (June 2, 2026) ordered the transfer and posting of seven IAS officers with immediate effect in an administrative reshuffle affecting the health, local government, industries and education departments.

The names of officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Manjit Singh Brar (IAS:2007:PB), Administrative Secretary, Local Government, has been transferred and post as Secretary, Medical Education and Research.
2. Ghanshyam Thori (IAS:2010:PB), Secretary, Health and Family Welfare with additional charge of Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) and Secretary, Medical Education and Research, has been transferred as Administrative Secretary, Local Government.
3. Kulwant Singh (IAS:2012:PB), Director, Local Government, has been transferred and posted as Director, Higher Education.
4. Sakshi Sawhney (IAS:2014:PB), Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA), has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Health and Family Welfare for posting as Mission Director, National Health Mission. She will continue to hold charge as Chief Administrator, PUDA.
5. Jaspreet Singh (IAS:2014:PB), Director, Industries and Commerce, has been transferred and posted as Director, Industries and Commerce with additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab Information and Communication Technology Corporation Limited (Punjab INFOTECH).
6. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar (IAS:2020:PB), Director, Higher Education with additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab INFOTECH, has been transferred and posted as Director, Local Government.
7. Rubinderjit Singh Brar (IAS:2020:PB), Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion with additional charge of Additional Secretary, NRI Affairs and Additional Secretary, Local Government, has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Industries and Commerce for posting as Managing Director, Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation with additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation. He will also continue as Additional Secretary, Local Government.
