Tamil Nadu govt transfers over 30 IAS officers; 10 Districts get new Collectors

The Tamil Nadu government on Friday (May 29, 2026) carried out a major bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring more than 30 IAS officers and assigning them new responsibilities across key departments, state run public sector undertakings and district administrations.

The reshuffle witnessed significant changes at the district level, with 15 District Collectors being shifted. Of them, 10 districts received new Collectors. The districts that got new Collectors include Madurai, Nagapattinam, Theni, Dharmapuri, Kanniyakumari, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Ranipet and Namakkal.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Mangat Ram Sharma (IAS:1992:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, PWD, has been transferred and posted as Chairman of POWERFIN.
2. J Jayakanthan (IAS:2005:TN), former Secretary, Water Resource Department, has been transferred and posted as CMD, Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Limited.
3. E Saravanavelraj (IAS:2007:TN), former Secretary, Backward Classes and Minority Welfare Department, has been transferred and posted as MD, Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited with full additional charge of MD, Tamil Nadu Magnesite Limited, Salem.
4. E Sundaravalli (IAS:2007:TN), Commissioner, Collegiate Education, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department.
5. R Lalitha (IAS:2010:TN), Managing Director, New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited, has been transferred and posted as Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department.
6. A K Kamal Kishore (IAS:2015:TN), District Collector, Tenkasi, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Finance Department.
7. M S Prasanth (IAS:2015:TN), District Collector, Kallakurichi, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary, Finance Department.
8. R Alagumeena (IAS:2018:TN), District Collector, Kanniyakumari, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department.
9. Pooja Kulkarni (IAS:2003:TN), Chief Executive Officer, Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise.
10. V Amuthavalli (IAS:2005:TN), former Secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi Department, has been posted as Commissioner, Rural Development.
11. P Ponniah (IAS:2009:TN), Commissioner, Rural Development, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Collegiate Education.
12. T G Vinay (IAS:2009:TN), Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments.
13. R Kannan (IAS:2010:TN), Vice Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Sugar, while continuing to hold additional charge of Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency until further orders.
14. Chandra Sekhar Sakhamuri (IAS:2011:TN), Chief Executive Officer, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, has been transferred and posted as Director, Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business.
15. Dr S Uma (IAS:2003:TN), Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, has been transferred and posted as Project Director, Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project.
16. B Priyanka (IAS:2015:TN), District Collector, Thanjavur, has been transferred and posted as Director, Town Panchayats.
17. P Akash (IAS:2014:TN), District Collector, Nagapattinam, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Madurai.
18. K J Praveen Kumar (IAS:2017:TN), District Collector, Madurai, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Nagapattinam.
19. R Vaithinathan (IAS:2016:TN), former Director, Information and Public Relations/ ex-officio Joint Secretary, Tamil Development and Information Department and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation, has been posted as District Collector, Theni.
20. V Saravanan (IAS:2017:TN), District Collector, Tiruchirappalli, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Dharmapuri.
21. M Prathap (IAS:2017:TN), District Collector, Tiruvallur, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Kanniyakumari.
22. Pratik Tayal (IAS:2017:TN), Joint Secretary to Government, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Tiruchirappalli.
23. Vandana Garg (IAS:2017:TN), on return from leave, has been posted as District Collector, Tiruvannamalai.
24. J E Padmaja (IAS:2017:TN), Additional Collector (Development) and Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, Viluppuram, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Kallakurichi.
25. N Priya (IAS:2017:TN), Joint Managing Director/Project Director (WB & ADB Projects), Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Ranipet.
26. L Madhubalan (IAS:2018:TN), Commissioner, Tiruchirappalli Corporation, has been transferred and posted as District Collector, Namakkal.
27. P N Sridhar (IAS:2012:TN), Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation for appointment as its Managing Director.
28. S P Karthika (IAS:2012:TN), Commissioner, Prohibition and Excise, has been placed at the disposal of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority for appointment as its Chief Executive Officer.
29. RV Shajeevana (IAS:2012:TN), Chief Operating Officer, Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project and Project Director (FAC), Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Safety Project, has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation for appointment as its Managing Director.
30. Simranjeet Singh Kahlon (IAS:2016:TN), District Collector, Ramanathapuram, has been placed at the disposal of Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust for appointment as its Member Secretary. He will also hold additional charge of Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
31. B Ganesan (IAS:2016:TN), former Director, Town and Country Planning, has been placed at the disposal of New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited for appointment as its Managing Director.
32. Ranjeet Singh (IAS:2016:TN), District Collector, Theni, has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited for appointment as its Managing Director.
33. V R Subbulaxmi (IAS:2018:TN), District Collector, Vellore, has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project for appointment as its Chief Operating Officer. She will also hold full additional charge of Project Director, Tamil Nadu Women Employment and Safety Project until further orders.
