Jharkhand transfers 36 IAS officers; Deoghar, Khunti, Garhwa get new DCs

The Jharkhand government on Saturday (May 23, 2026) carried out a major administrative reshuffle, issuing transfer and posting orders for 36 IAS officers across various departments and district administrations in the state.

Names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Chhavi Ranjan (IAS:2011:JH), Joint Secretary, Medical Education & Family Welfare, with additional charge of Executive Director, Jharkhand State Arogya Society; Project Director, Jharkhand AIDS Control Society, Ranchi, has been transferred as Director, Sports with additional charge of Executive Director, Jharkhand Sports Authority, Ranchi.
2. Shashi Prakash Jha (IAS:2011:JH), Mission Director, National Health Mission, Ranchi, has been given additional charge of MD, Jharkhand Medical & Health Infrastructure Development & Procurement Corporation Limited, Ranchi.
3. Zeeshan Qamar (IAS:2013:JH), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Special Secretary, Drinking Water & Sanitation Department, Ranchi.
4. Rajiv Ranjan (IAS:2013:JH), District Magistrate & Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur), has been given additional charge of Administrator, Subernarekha Project, Jamshedpur.
5. Sunil Kumar Singh (IAS:2013:JH), Director, Information Technology, Ranchi, with additional charge of CEO, JAP IT and CEO, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Innovation Lab, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Information & Technology Department, Ranchi.
6. Vijay Kumar Gupta (IAS:2013:JH), Special Secretary, Finance Department, Ranchi, has been transferred and posted as In-charge Division Commissioner, North Chhotanagpur Division, Hazaribagh.
7. Faiz Aq Ahmed Mumtaz (IAS:2014:JH), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Additional Secretary, Revenue, Registration & Land Reform Department, Ranchi.
8. Bhor Singh Yadav (IAS:2014:JH), Director, Agriculture, Ranchi, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Forest Environment & Climate Change, Ranchi.
9. Varun Ranjan (IAS:2014:JH), MD, JIIDCO with additional charge of MD, Jharkhand Industrial Region Development Authority, has been given additional charge of MD, JEMCL.

11. Pashupati Nath Mishra (IAS:2014:JH), Deputy Development Commissioner, Garhwa, has been transferred as District Magistrate & Deputy Commissioner, Garhwa.
