Ajit Kumar gets MyGov CEO charge; Nand Kumarum’s tenure gets ex-post facto approval

IAS Ajit Kumar gets MyGov CEO charge; ACC grants ex-post facto approval to Nand Kumarum’s earlier tenure.

IAS officer Ajit Kumar (IAS:2006:KL), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), has been entrusted with the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MyGov.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (March 17, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology to assign him the additional responsibility for a period of six months with effect from November 24, 2025, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prior to this, the additional charge of CEO, MyGov was held by IAS officer Nand Kumarum (IAS:2008:MP), President & CEO of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). The ACC has granted ex-post facto approval for his holding of the additional charge for the period from July 9, 2025 to November 23, 2025.

With this, Kumarum’s tenure in the additional role has formally concluded, and Ajit Kumar has taken over the charge of CEO, MyGov.
