Rama Subramaniam Gandhi has been reappointed as the non-executive (part-time) Chairman of Yes Bank. The private sector lender on Tuesday announced that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), through a letter dated September 1, 2025, has approved his reappointment for a fresh term from September 20, 2025, to May 13, 2027, at a remuneration cleared by the RBI.

A seasoned central banker, Gandhi served as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India between 2014 and 2017, contributing to several key policy and regulatory frameworks during his tenure. With over 37 years of experience in the banking and financial sector, he is regarded as one of the most accomplished figures in Indian finance.

Earlier, he also had a three-year secondment with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the country’s capital market regulator, and held the position of Director at the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Hyderabad.
