The Central Government on Friday (August 8, 2025) appointed Kartikeya Goel (IAS:2010:CH) as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) of Chhattisgarh. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), his tenure will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will continue until December 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Goel will replace incumbent K C Devasenapati (IAS:2007:CG), who has been serving in the post since August 2023. Although Devasenapati’s tenure was scheduled to run until December 31, 2025, he is being replaced.
