Manoj Kumar Dubey (IRAS:1993), Director (Finance) at Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR), has been selected for appointment as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. (IRFC). The Search cum Selection Committee (SCSC) in its meeting on Tuesday recommended his name for this post.
He will be appointed to the post of CMD after receiving approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. The CMD post of IRFC has been under an ad-hoc arrangement for over two years with Shelly Verma, Director (Finance), IRFC, serving as interim CMD.
IRFC is the dedicated funding arm of Indian Railways. The company was set up in December 1986 for mobilizing funds from domestic and overseas markets to meet the pre-dominant portion of Extra Budgetary Resources requirement of Indian Railways. IRFC is a Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Enterprise under administrative control of Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
